| Funding Prioroties |
|
Basically, the Foundation has two funding concerns; one, to build an endowment for the future, and, two, get funds into our schools now to bolster the quality of education for today’s students.
The second priority is to get funds into our schools now. Within the schools, to date, the Foundation has targeted its funding to Spearfish School District’s academic programs through:
Special projects requested by the school district and approved by the Foundation Board of Directors.
Special projects initiated by the Foundation.
And, special projects initiated by the donor and approved by the school district. |
|
SFPE Permanent Endowment
The first priority is the general support of the Foundation endowment. Consequently, we ask that a portion of all gifts to the Foundation be invested in the permanent endowment. The Foundation policy regarding contributions to the permanent endowment is:
60% of all non-restricted gifts will be directed to the permanent endowment, 40% will be distributed.
20% of all restricted gifts will go to the endowment, 80% will be distributed as requested by the donor. |
